Meet the Clayp!
Clayp Clayp!
Eco-friendly, handmade, progressive lamp from Ukraine
Nice to meet you all, I’m Clayp - an eco-friendly lamp with a futuristic design and Ukrainian soul.
I was created with the hands of people who put love and inspiration in me, so my mission is to bring you the light of inspiration.
Claying your life, I always stay eco-friendly. Since my main components are: clay mixed and gathered in different corners of Ukraine combined with herbs, plants, marble dust and paper fibre, I can easily be recycled.
Being taken from the ground, you can always bring me back if you will get enough light. Recycling me, you will have to divide the cord, metal and glass and it will take me less than a year to completely vanish between the roots of trees and water drops.
Except for my love of nature, I always believe in human kindness. Being true Clayp and bringing the light of hope, I just couldn’t stay away from the situation that is going on currently in Ukraine. That is why purchasing every item, you donate 5% of the price to the support of the children of Ukraine who were forcibly moved.
Let’s build a better reality by making sustainable moves and sharing the light. The light of inspiration.
Sincerely yours,
Clayp”
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, INVESTOR
Yurii Zhukov
Clayp was founded in the 2021 year by Yurii Zhukov and Oleksandr Puzyrnyi in association with the main designer of the brand Alisa Tiramisova.
“I met Oleksand at the “green school” event that was devoted to the eco-awareness”, - recalls Yurii Zhukov, founder of the brand, - “Oleksandr was telling me ideas about the new product.
And while talking about the approach and materials over and over we came to the idea that it should be lamps. We started building Clayp on the common values: eco-awareness, openness and support.
These and Clayps principles became the basis”.
Seeing only people who love what they do and care about it, Clayp always wondered how Yurii did manage to gather all of them in one team: “Honor to each other and trust allowed us to gather in one team.
The interest in the idea begins from the inside, you can’t force someone to love what he or she does, but trust - is what Clayps this light”, - Yurii says.
He honours people so much that puts the artistic beginning every one of us has in the first place. That’s why Clayp is completely handmade and uses only natural elements, that can share the soul and feeling of happiness. Yurii himself was working on the rubbish sorting development in Kyiv to help improve the eco-situation.
“When I came to the conclusion, that sorting is a consequence of the lack of love for nature people demonstrate, I joined the Ukrainian Nature Protection Group, which works on the preservation of Ukrainian forests and fields with all the living creatures”.
CHIEF ENGINEER
Oleksandr Puzyrnyi
Being an eco-activist, Yurii also initiated to donate every 5% of one Clayp purchase to the support of Ukrainian children who were forcibly moved during the full-scale invasion in Ukraine: “Children are those who suffer the most from this horrible russian invadion to Ukraine.
That’s why I wanted to help”, - he says and keep on supporting families and children who have lost parents during the war in Ukraine.
At the same time, Oleksandr Puzyryi recalls how he was beginning how a career as an engineer: “Everything started from the family hobby.
We were decorating the home and houses of friends with our handmade pieces, worked with many techniques and were inventing something new over and over again. With time, we started to understand materials and their characteristics very well, so bring our knowledge to life, we have created various types of unique materials and the way we mix them”.
Oleksandr was working on numerous projects: furniture and interior decor. He was mixing various sculptures and forms to finally realize that he always wanted to work with light. With the light, that in fact can change every interior. So he met Yurii and they decided to run Clayp together.
PRODUCT DESIGNER
Alisa Tiramisova
“I was trying to invent unique material over and over when once I touched a new blend and I got that feeling - it was living, natural by the texture, warm and so intuitive”, - that is how Oleksandr created a unique material for Clayp made of the mix of clay from various corners of Ukraine, herbs, marble dust, paper fibre and plants.
“The main difference of our lamps from the ceramics is that we never use burning and materials made of clay mostly are just getting strong by “drying with the air”.
Clayp would simply be impossible without the participation of the talented designer, like Alisa Tiramisova, who joined the project with her amazing vision and ideas.
“Oleksandr invited me and I was touched and inspired by his vision of the project. When I saw Clayp before it became Clayp actually, I fell in love with materials and started working on ideas”, - Alisa says.
“Today Clayp feels to me like the team of enthusiasts, who do what they love and what they trust. The lamp is a lightning sculpture, that is sharing the light despite it’s still kind of a small statue. That’s strange and cool at the same time”.
Being eco-friendly and made with love, Clayp is here to share that cosy feeling with you. Clayp your life!
